This sentence h…

This sentence has five words. Here are five more words. Five-word sentences are fine. But several together become monotonous. Listen to what is happening. The writing is getting boring. The sound of it drones. It’s like a stuck record. The ear demands some variety. Now listen. I vary the sentence length, and I create music. Music. The writing sings. It has a pleasant rhythm, a lilt, a harmony. I use short sentences. And I use sentences of medium length. And sometimes, when I am certain the reader is rested, I will engage him with a sentence of considerable length, a sentence that burns with energy and builds with all the impetus of a crescendo, the roll of the drums, the crash of the cymbals–sounds that say listen to this, it is important.

Moving on

It surprises me how quick people move on from tragedies —and this is not in a lovelorn sense. For example, most people often forget the aftermath of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings and WWI and WWII in general. And how about the Spanish influenza?

It’s not a bad or shameful thing, though. I understand how we’d want to forget all about these sickening human acts but it kind of pains me how we forget about all the lives lost and the emotions their families are feeling even today. I am happy and relieved that these places all over the world have truly risen up and transformed into modern, beautiful and peaceful places. And despite this, they’ve still commemorated and paid respect to the tragic events and the people who were involved.

What I’d want to see though is that the world will all unite and remember all the lives, culture, and memories lost. It surprises me how younger generations don’t know these important events which dictate our history. I think it’ll be better for everyone to be aware and acknowledge, respect, and appreciate the sufferings and noble sacrifices people make.

Coron, 2012

Last sembreak, I went to the beautiful island(s) of Coron in Palawan together with my family and other family friends. It was only a quick trip but it was super fun and relaxing. The islands and beaches of Coron are truly amazing to see, I was really awed by the beaches and the huge rock formations all over. I’d definitely go back there soon if I need to get away from all the hustles of my real life. Haha.

I have a lot of photos, mostly me. =))) These were grabbed from Tito Nuf, Ate Dot, and my parents!

Waiting for our limos (aka tricycles)

Cute tricycles and fiesta banners

Lunch was awesome

On our first day, we went to the Kingfisher Resort which was at the center of the sea. Lucky for us, no one was there so we had the whole house(?!) to ourselves.

Perfect for siesta

I’m yours

Araneta was swamped with so many people two nights ago, you’d think there was a huge concert going on. But noooo, it was only a fan meet with THE Lee Min Ho! My friend Dianne had an extra ticket and she invited me. Thanks D! 🙂

He didn’t sing. He didn’t dance. He doesn’t even speak English. But just seeing his face was so worth it. Haha

All at once

I watched The Fray in Manila last night. It was so awesome, they were so good! The mood was pretty laidback and we got great seats!

I’m so glad I listened to their newest album for a week straight. I appreciated the whole thing a lot more cause I got to sing along with them. It’s too bad they didn’t sing my favorite song from Scars and Stories, I Can Barely Say. It would have been epic! They promised to come back once they have a new album and I promised myself…when I’m able, I’ll buy patron tickets. Para naman mahawakan ko din ang soft hands ni Isaac! We passed by a group of girls who were saying that his hands were so soft over and over hahaha!

Moonstar 88 was their front act. As usual, they’re awesome.

First lines: Maybe you want her. Maybe you need her. Maybe you’re starting to compare. Then BOOM, lights! I loved it haha. Isay and I predicted that All At Once might be their opening song and it was!! They followed it with The Fighter, Here We Are, YOU FOUND ME (my favorite), Never Say Never, Turn Me On, Syndicate, and more.

Ungodly Hour was magical. The guitarist was the one who sang and his voice was heaven. Godly indeed hahahaha

When they played Look After You, How to Save a Life, and Cable Car, everyone was dancing and clapping and everything. Infinite moment here haha #pumeperks #therearenowords I wanted to post a video but it’s takes too long to upload so never mind, maybe next time when I have a faster connection 😉

They ended with Heartbeat. Singing Oooooooooh, I feel your heartbeat. I ultimately love this line: “If you can love somebody, love them all the same”.

Isaac performed Be Still for the encore. I loved it. This is the ultimate lullaby/peaceful/sleep song! From what I researched (haha), he wrote this in 30 minutes while he was driving! He also sang Happiness and dedicated it to Habagat victims. ❤

‘Twas a great night. I can’t wait for it to happen again.

One more sem

Hopefully! This sem is loaded with MBB majors so I bet it’s gonna be asdfghjkl all over. I just pray that I graduate on time and have sufficient grades that’ll get me through any med school. Wish me luck (especially sa thesis)!

Me and my blockmates blowing kisses and making goofy faces so you’ll all pray for us 🙂

Fantastic Baby

My favorite Kpop boy band went to the Philippines for the first time for their worldwide tour. I love love love these 5 people! I can’t pick a favorite…that’s how much I love all of them. This, for me, is a BIG thing because I never thought they’d come here. And at the end of the show, Seungri promised they’ll come back so I’m looking forward when that time comes. Hopefully, I can buy those hard-to-get VIP tickets. Potek, 12k siya! Must start saving money now, I guess.

I’m so happy their recent album is so awesome! I loved every song especially Fantastic Baby haha. But now, I’m always LSS-ing to Blue! But of course, their two early hits, Lies and Haru Haru are my ultimate favorites. I’m so glad I still remember all the lyrics (even if they’re in Korean) which I memorized three years ago. Woohoo, I can still remember when I was screaming every line out. Take note, rap siya. Woohoo talaga haha!

Here are pictures I grabbed from my cousin, Ate Cams, and from Big Bang’s official FB page.

I’m a day late but happy halloween to everyone! I didn’t get the chance to dress up (boo). But look at these morphed pictures of my current profile pic! Haha I had fun making them. Credits from picmonkey.

I’m so lame.

One day trip

My mom, sister, and I went to Baguio for a quick trip over the break. We visited the Ben Cab museum (FINALLY) and stayed at the country club which is one of my favorite hotels ever. Have I mentioned how much I love Baguio? I thought it was going to be a bit warm there but noooo, I was freezing to death (AGAIN) but it’s always nice. I feel like I’m getting whiter in cold places, though there is no scientific relation to that whatsoever. I think…HAHA.

The Ben Cab museum is a little far off from the busy part of Baguio but it’s still near (around 10 minutes) and the road going there was ultra zigzag-y which I love because I like roads that make you dizzy. HAHA. Talk about adrenaline rush. Anyway, when we got there, no one was visiting so we had the museum all to ourselves. Yay! They didn’t give me a student discount though because you can’t see my face in my ID anymore. Boooooo. Stupid ID.

It’s been awhile since I last posted photos in my blog so this post has plenty of them. I’m actually amazed by my finding the time to slightly edit the photos one by one. Usually, I give up after the second try. HAHA. I’m so glad WordPress has this new gallery app!

Anyway, going to museums is always fun! You learn to appreciate different cultures and discover new things. There are plenty of interesting museums in the Philippines and I think we should visit them as often as possible. In this way, we get to admire and applaud all the artists that our country has and quite possibly help them in reaching out to many others.

Girl time.

Look at the gallery for more. Wow, I like this new layout haha. I’ve written descriptions in some pictures if you wanna read more haha.
